Feeling Wilted?!

Posted on 05:41 by Unknown
And not just due to the heat, I’m sure…..See this house plant? I have “ONE” house plant. And I can’t even keep THAT one alive…The good thing about this plant is that it perks up if you water it when you see it droopy! LOL! And it lives on the kitchen counter, so it gets light from the window, and is very close to the faucet, so you think it wouldn’t be nearly as neglected as it is….but…..this is

Florabunda- Re-Post!

Posted on 11:58 by Unknown
I have received a couple emails asking WHERE to find the Florabunda ((aka Jacob's Ladder)) quilt directions that were posted last week, and it hit me...the directions were posted SO FAR DOWN in that Bloggy Love Day post, and had so much "other" unrelated stuff, that it really needed to be it's OWN tutorial page so I could link it in the top tabs on the blog! That should make it easier for people

A Day of Driving!

Posted on 05:56 by Unknown
Yesterday went by without a post. Did you miss it? I know I did! I woke up late yesterday morning, needed to get my stuff packed and out of the hotel --- and there wasn’t time for editing down the photos I had taken at Sunday’s Nine Patch Split workshop! And I was --- and still am --- MOVING. SLOW!! Yes, the tired muscles have totally kicked in and are complaining loudly…but other than that I

Oh My Aching Feet!!

Posted on 12:21 by Unknown
I had the whole day to myself almost…and plans were made to go for a walk/jog about 8 miles from here in Prince William Forest Park. The morning was beautifully overcast….not rainy, just cool and fragrant, one of those perfect days….and off I went. Waterbottle, jogging shoes, shorts…off we go! When I pulled in to the park, the sign on the entrance shack at the gate said that they only charge for

A Fine Day To Sew!

Posted on 05:46 by Unknown
Yesterday was the Oklahoma Backroads workshop with the Virginia Star Quilters of Fredericksburg, Virginia! I’d already had a terrific time the night before, and when morning came I was up and raring to go to get the day a-rollin’! Now, if you remember yesterday’s post…there was something I wanted to tell you but it was going to wait for this one…but before I just out and blurt with it….let me do

Hello, Fredericksburg!

Posted on 19:54 by Unknown
OH, I love my new wheels! Yes, I do!! This baby can CRUISE!! Now..if I could only figure out all the ins and outs of how to work this or that….the cruise control is in a different place, and doesn’t run off buttons inside the steering wheel…it’s down below and behind, and it’s a stick thing like blinkers or headlights…and I can’t tell you how many times my fingers reached for their old “familiar”

Busy Mail Day!

Posted on 08:03 by Unknown
Some days, there is nothing but junk mail in the mail box….and then some other days?! Wow! It’s like Christmas, or a birthday, or something…and who are all these packages from, and why are they being sent to me?! Some packages come with email addresses included so it is easy for me to get back to the person. Some of them don’t….but I have ways of looking them up! And some of them? I know they are

Further down this post you will find the other sites to check out, but for now…are you ready? And be sure to

It's A Sienna, Baby!!

Posted on 05:59 by Unknown
Let me tell you how much I *HATE* shopping for new vehicles. I hate the whole process. Seriously. All the internet searching ahead of time, so we know what prices are within the range of our budget, how much above cost they are asking, speculating on how low they will go, did I offer too much? The one thing I really hate is feeling like I had a fast one pulled over me, that the guy next to me

I understand your frustration! Really I do! I don’t have any control over why some of you are able to comment just fine, and them some…who have been long time faithful commenters are all of a sudden caught up in a loop of “log-in-re-log-in-re-log-in!” I haven’t changed anything for the comments at all. Empty Nests, and the like..

Posted on 08:11 by Unknown
It happened yesterday. Jeff made his big move to Columbia, SC…..moving out of our home, and into his own life. It was a bittersweet day, being Father’s Day and all, but in a way, it was a good day to do it too….there was no putting it off! So this week, he should know more about that job, what he’ll be doing. He is staying with some friends and sharing rent. And one of the things I’m most proud

I have to admit…I was not prepared for my long drive home yesterday. I had loaded my mp3 player with books, but somehow they were either not as good as I thought ((way too much churchy-preachy!)) Or, the line up of parts was scrambled! For instance, when I’d look in the folder on the player, the sequence was scrambled! It started with part 3 in the line up, and then went to 5, to 7…and nothing I

I met up with Lisa and her daughter Sabina at their hotel in Kissimmee yesterday morning and off we went for the wilds of Epcot! You know me, I just can’t resist a sign that says “Antiques Ahead!” I didn’t think I’d find many quilts down here in Florida. In fact, what I found were definitely more of the tropical to pastel color range of quilts…light weight, and fun!I never know what I will find. Some places will have more junk than most. Some will have quilts that are really dirty, smelly and over-priced. Some won't have

Seconded only by that time right before evening falls..when shadows are long and the sun is working it’s way down…that 3 hours of time left before dark… And lest you think that I run the whole thing……there is a reason I call it a walk/jog. I love Hungarian food, and there are just not a lot of Hungarian places in the cities I’ve visted lately. Lots of Tex Mex and plenty of BBQ --- but the last time I was in a specifically Hungarian restaurant was when I was in Ohio a couple of years ago! I’m wanting myself some Chicken Paprikash! Free now

I have to tell you I was mercilessly teased by the Brandon group after my post regarding how much STUFF we take to class with us! I was so worried I had offended some…but I am so the same way!
